On Monday 10th June, a group of year 5 and 6 athletes took part in the Sevenoaks School athletics event. Some of them were asked to run 100m, 300m, and 800m. Others threw a shot putt, javelin or competed in the standing long jump. 

It was the same format as the Year 3 athletics event, where the races were run over two heats so just because we might have won our heat did not always mean we were going to be overall winners! Special mention goes to Ashley who came second in his heat but narrowly missed out on an overall placing. 

On the track Lottie went on to win the girls 100m sprint, Maurice came third in the 300m sprint and Teddy came second in the 800m. In the field events Albert came first in the standing long jump, Bea came third in the javelin and Seb came second in the javelin. 

Overall we came 3rd out of 9 schools! Well done everyone!
