A message from the headteacher

Dear Parents/Carers

Thank you all for so many positive comments about the work pack that St John’s teachers put together for your children. Just to clarify this should be started on Monday, then from 1st April we are expecting children to take a two week Easter break from work with you. Children should resume using the work packs from 16th April. At the beginning of May, should we still be off school, teachers will produce a new work programme. If you require any clarification while working at home with your children please email me on [email protected] and I will disseminate to the class teachers who I know will be happy to clarify anything.

After speaking individually to key worker parents, the vast majority have been able to ensure that their child is able to be safely cared for at home, where at least one or two parents are now working. Guidance for schools was that if it was at all possible for children to be at home then they should be.  Therefore St John’s is now closed to all pupils as it was not feasible for the school to remain open and put staff at risk for just two pupils.

The staff and I have been overwhelmed by the kind words, gratitude and the positive spirit of the St John’s community.

Please check our blogs on the website for regular updates.
