How smart everyone looked when they returned to school in their winter uniform! A reminder that children are still asked to wear their house t-shirt on Fridays. Some simply choose to wear the t-shirt instead of their white shirt while others have worn their t-shirt over their white shirt – either works well.
This week I’ve witnessed outstanding work in every class. Writing has been a main school focus for over a year and standards have improved to impressive levels. I joined Year 5J when they were sharing their group debates on the merits of every St John’s child being given a ball. Their ability both to write and deliver their speeches was exceptional.
Which brings me on to playground equipment. Our playtimes are certainly happier for our investment in new equipment. New balls, skipping ropes, hoops, space hoppers, giant jenga and connect 4 have definitely enhanced our enjoyment while improving our co-ordination and PE skills. It’s now 4.15pm and the playground is still buzzing with families enjoying each other’s company and this lovely equipment. Please ensure your children treat our school play equipment respectfully and that they return it to the storage points in the playground.
